Ginger Supervises Packing Up

Old Christmas Day

Hi, it’s Ginger Gingerbread-Man, and today is Old Christmas Day. People say that today is when the Christmas season is over.
However, I have been observing so many ways that people are keeping the spirit of Christmas.
And, I can tell you that, even though the ornaments and the tinsel and lights are packed away, people are still able to feel the spirit of the Christmas season, any time of the year.

People sense Christmas when there is a feeling of generosity, or kindness to others, or welcoming hospitality in the air.
People sense Christmas in fun and laughter with friends and family.
People sense Christmas when they are sharing joy and excitement with youngsters, or when grownups forget their adult restraint and act like youngsters themselves.

It’s Christmas when folks share good food and happy occasions with others, any time of the year.
It’s Christmas when folks turn their home into a special place to welcome guests.
Most especially it’s Christmas when folks express their love to the people they are closest to, and also to strangers, any time of the year.

Thank you for sharing my thoughts over the past few weeks. I wish you the very best of Christmas feelings, all year long!
See you next Advent! – Ginger

  1. I am going to miss Ginger :( and all his adventures…
What are you going to do now Mavis?
I think that I will take the little gold bells that I have had a for a couple of years now out and remember Ginger and Christmas all year long. The love, the good treats, the special music, the fun times, those wonderful family gatherings will then be attached to them so that each time they are bumped or just rung for fun I too will remember the special magic of December and Christmas all year long.
Will this blog be available all year long?
Thank you for this joyfilled adventure with Ginger and Gigi… maybe I should make some more cookies….hmmm :)

    • Hi Leisa: Thank you for following Ginger and Gigi and their explorations of the meaning of the Christmas season. I certainly had fun doing it, and I’m pleased that other people enjoyed it, too. I will leave the blog open so people can go back in and check out the Archives to find their favorite images.
I have two other projects underway, one is a year-long daily blog called An Apple a Day where I intend to experiment with materials and techniques, and the other is a place where I will share my progress towards an exhibition of Labrador Landscapes. Please check them both, and add your comments! Thanks for being part of the “GingerBlog!”

  2. ps… Mavis you do not have Gingerbread…you have GingerBlog :)
